CONGRESSMAN GRAY ANNOUNCES 15 SUBMISSIONS FOR FY26 COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING

May 27, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Gray (D-Merced) today announced 15 Community Project Funding (CPF) submissions to the House Committee on Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2026. If funded, each project would serve the Central Valley by improving roads, expanding water storage, supporting construction of common spaces and parks, and upgrading equipment for first responders.

Started in 2022, the CPF process allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. For the FY26 cycle, Members were allowed to submit up to 15 projects for consideration. Following submission, each project will be considered by the Appropriations Committee for inclusion in the 12 FY26 funding bills. Submission does not guarantee full or partial funding of the project.

“For too long, Washington has left the Central Valley behind,” said Congressman Gray. “Now we have the opportunity to finally bring home funding that our community desperately needs. I’m proud to submit these 15 projects that would improve daily lives in the Valley. I am committed to working toward full funding for each from the Appropriations Committee.”

Congressman Gray submitted the following projects for funding:

  • $5,000,000 for Chowchilla Water District’s intertie construction to enhance reliability of drinking and irrigation water
  • $665,500 for Gustine Unified School District’s Wellness Center facilities
  • $5,000,000 for the City of Modesto’s enhanced police radio system

Congressman Gray received dozens of CPF applications from local governments and organizations for the FY26 cycle. The submitted projects were selected to comply with the Appropriation Committee’s narrow project requirements for their demonstrated need in the 13th district, their adherence to Committee guidance and their application’s thorough supporting materials.
