CONGRESSMAN GRAY LAUNCHES 2025 CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE

May 28, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Gray (D-Merced) today announced the launch of his first Congressional App Challenge, aligned with the California State Computer Science Standards and the ISTE Standards for students.

Founded in 2013, the Congressional App Challenge inspires students from all backgrounds to explore STEM education opportunities and connect with their Members of Congress. Through the creation of a unique app, the App Challenge encourages innovation, critical thinking, cooperation, and communication among students--skills that are essential to their success inside and outside the classroom.

“STEM education is critical to the success of our students, as well as the success of the Valley,” Congressman Gray said. “Whether it’s used in the classroom, office, or to support our agricultural workforce, STEM training will prepare students to become the next generation of Valley producers and innovators. Any middle or high school students who have an idea for an original app should submit their work!”

Over 70,000 students have participated in the Congressional App Challenge since its founding. The submission page for the App Challenge can be found here: https://www.congressionalappchallenge.us/
