WASHINGTON, DC – On the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Medicare and Medicaid, Congressman Adam Gray (CA-13) introduced legislation to restore funding to critical Medicaid and ACA programs. Cuts to Medicaid and ACA programs included in the partisan reconciliation bill signed by President Trump in July threaten health coverage for 15 million Americans, including nearly 420,000 people in Congressman Gray’s district who rely on Medicaid (known as Medi-Cal in California).

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Gray’s STRIVE Act to limit copay costs for veterans at VA health clinics passed with unanimous consent out of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs this week. The bill was recommended favorably by a voice vote, with no opposition from any member of the committee. The committee’s vote renders the bill eligible to be brought to the House Floor for a vote.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Gray (CA-13) recently cosponsored the bipartisan Federally Integrated Species Health (FISH) Act led by Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41). The bill would consolidate management and regulation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) within the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). Under current law, ESA authority is shared by FWS and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).

DOS PALOS, CA – The Bureau of Reclamation has announced they will award $93 million to the Arroyo Canal Fish Screen and Sack Dam Fish Bypass Project near Dos Palos. The construction contract will further Bureau efforts to secure water access for Central Valley users and improve fish passage in the region.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressmen Adam Gray (D-Merced) and Randy Feenstra (R-Iowa) today introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation to give producers fairer market prices for their livestock through disaster assistance programs. The Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) Improvement Act would require the Farm Service Agency to more regularly update the LIP payment rates that dictate livestock market prices.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Adam Gray (D-Merced), joined by Congressmen Greg Murphy, MD, (R-NC) and Neal Dunn (R-FL), has introduced the bipartisan Protecting Patient Access to Cancer and Complex Therapies Act. The legislation would fix existing physician reimbursement policy to ensure fair payment for health care providers and secure commercial access to prescription drugs for patients.
