WASHINGTON, DC– Congressman Adam Gray (D-Merced) today spoke in favor of his amendment to the proposed budget resolution that would protect Medicaid from devastating cuts. The amendment would have prevented consideration of any legislation that would result in cuts to Medicaid in order to provide tax breaks to individuals with a net worth of one billion dollars or more. Congressman Gray’s amendment to the budget resolution was offered to the Rules Committee, but was voted down.
